Monday Beginnings

  • Mood: worried, stressed, guilty
  • Today I will not overeat at this halloween party
  • Today I successfully got Little Princess costume cleaned from yesterdays party in time for todays party
  • Today I am grateful for New beginnings and never giving up.

Well, I didn't meet one of my goals  yesterday.  I went to a halloween party with Little Princess and I although I tried, my diet went quickly to h*ll in a handbasket.  I truly hope that this is not a sign of things to come.  I have been at this too long and come to far to let the holidays break me.  I need to start again, today, now.  I can do this.  I will not fail.  I have another halloween party today and pray for my guys that I am stronger this time than I was last time.  Maybe I will bring a travel mug filled with coffee.  At least then when everyone is eating and there is nothing to eat but cookies, cupcakes, regular pop and hot dogs, I will have something to sip on and keep me busy.  It was a bad day guys.  I did bad.  And on a week I am supposed to be really working hard.  Ugh.

I think the coffee travel mug sounds like a good idea. I know that if I have one single snack food item, the domino effec kicks in and I'm doomed. Anything to resist the temptation of that first snack has to be a good thing

Don't stress so much over it. The coffee sounds like a great plan to deal with. I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember how great you feel now that you have come so far. That should be good motivation.

I am so proud of you for losing 3 pounds, woohoo!!!!! Don't you worry about that party, it won't hurt you. Just do better today! Drink that coffee and if you have to have a cookie, have one but only one :) And remember this time it is a lifestyle change, we are doing this for life so it's ok to have days like that. The difference this time is you get right back to it the next day or two instead of weeks and months!

I agree with Chaotic Mom. You need to give yourself one day to celebrate how good you've done, and how far you've come. With my son at parties with lots of sugar, I take a special snack for him. Have you tried those 100 calorie snack packs. Great portion control, and you would still get a sweet treat without the guilt!
