Thoughts

I have been having issues with working and dieting.  Since I started work I have been kind of afloat trying to find a way to do this, while taking care of my family, my house, my laundry and facing the never-ending challenge of food at work being offered on a daily basis.  I have been trying to find a way to make this work when for the last year, I was doing this at home and it was easier.  So . . . for now.  I have made a decision.  I am going to join the gym next to where I work and go on WW Core for a while.  Even if I still don't lose, I will at least maintain my current loss.  I feel good about how much I have lost and I can tell that this is a real challenge with where I work.   They treat their employees really well.  They reward good work.  My only problem is they tend to reward it with food.  I need to be on a diet where I don't feel deprived, where I can eat until I am full, but I can enjoy a treat once in a while as well.  I think that for now, WW Core may do that for me.  I can't hurt to try.  I did love eating that way when I was on it before. 

I just don't know how to progress from here.  I refuse to go backwards.   I refuse to give up.  I refuse to gain back the 60+ lbs I have lost.  So, here is where I am at.  I will try this again.  Wish me luck guys.  I welcome your thoughts and opinions as well.

gosh i hear ya sister, i am "maintaining" but not losing and it's frustrated. i used to work in an office that rewarded everyone with food and it was the death of me! i had never fallen off the wagon so many times! it's so hard to say no, cause everyone would ask why i wasn't eating anything. i hated that. but the occasional treat is ok! I mean, everything in moderation, right?

I'm sorry to hear that you have had trouble. But since you really enjoyed eating on core, I think that it will do you good. And joining the gym will be helpful as well. Given some time you will learn how to be a working mom. I have never had to do it myself, but I saw my mom do it forever. It isn't easy, but you will learn the tricks quickly. I have faith in you!

I think it's got to be worth talking to your employers a bout the rewarding with food thing. Perhaps you could suggest alternatives like vouchers for the cinema, or even the health club.

Or if the rewards are smaller, then how about a points system and when you've reached a certain amount they can be cashed in for vouchers.

I think... that you HAVE to do whatever "feels right" at the moment - because THAT is what will work for you! Dieting at work is DEFINATELY waaaaaay more challenging than dieting at home! I run into the SAME problems at school - which is another reason why I don't really LIKE going there this year! I'm very thankful now to be at Curves 3 days a week, so I only have to go to school 2 days! That's helping me a lot. But if you've tried WWcore before, and you know it offers you enough flexibility then GO FOR IT! And when they DO offer the food at work -- use my two bites rule! Thank them, take two bites -- enough to have a nice little taste -- and then throw it away! TWO BITES! Great rule!
